Conserving the future of our community

The village of Ditchling, settled comfortably within the Anglo-Saxon boundaries of its parish, has a distinctive personality reflected in its architecture, its creative inheritance and its flourishing social and economic life. The Ditchling Society aims to conserve and secure those things that make our village special while encouraging the development of the facilities and services that will enable our community to thrive in the twenty-first century.

About Us

For over sixty years members of the Ditchling Society have worked to make our village an even better place to live and to bring up families.

We bring an independent voice to issues affecting our community and offer practical assistance when needed. We work with local and regional authorities on the difficult issue of traffic in the village; our work has included regular village litter picks and tidying-up the verges; and we monitor planning applications in support of our neighbourhood plan. Members receive regular newsletters covering the issues of the day.
